The owner and his family have lived here for 26 years, and it's clear they've enjoyed this garden spot just about a kilometer from the town of Nuevo Arenal. He says he wants a bigger and flatter place where he can not only raise more cows (he now has 20 plus a stalwart bull) but not worry so much about falling, a concern now because of a vision problem.

About 3+ years ago over 50 fruit trees where planted on the property (mango avacado lime lemon etc). Next year they should start to bear fruit. Water drainage systems and rock walls have been added. If you are looking for land to build on and are a little anxious about building in another country I could offer my services and we could make up plans and have your own custom home built and ready for you. I know several builders to choose from and they are all great. I have a wonderful lawyer that can take care of getting your property titled in your own corporation. The three lots range in size from about a 1/4 to 1/2 acre. If you want exact measurements I am getting the lots surveyed. The prices range from 42000-70000. The upper is the smallest but has the best pieace of land. The middle is the largest and has the huge palm, the lowest is the coolest and has monkies more often.

The community entrance is between Oeste and Centro if heading toward Parrita go past the secong entrance into Oeste when you see a hardware store on the right turn left into Villas de Xalu. If you are drving through the neighborhood take your first left (past gate) and second right go over the hill and the property is on your right. Feel free to walk around on the properties and get a feel of the land.

The surrounding area is absolutely beautiful and serene. 10´s of thousands of Honduran pine trees planted 30 years ago are now 30-40 feet tall. There are 10´s of thousands of cashew trees on adjacent lands that were planted 40 years ago. The Orosi National Park is only 2 miles away. The park is 200,000 acres plus extending all the way from the extinct volcanoes in the picture down to the Ocean in Parque Santa Rosa. That is where American William Walker met defeat at the hands of the Costa Rican´s in his quest to conquer Central America.

The climate in La Cruz is ideal, fluctuating between 70 and 80 degrees. Light rain showers come off Lake Nicaragua which is only 30 miles away. A new high school is being built in the barrio, which already has an existing grade school.The Japanese government donated money to build the grade school. This house is in the city with superb bus connections and a taxi costs about $1.00 or $2.00 to go everywhere in town.
